Description of the project offered: 
Preventive conservation in museum requires monitoring indoor conditions such as humidity, air quality, specific illumination conditions. In addition, functional coatings can provide a benefit in PC of cultural heritage such as providing photocatalytic effect for indoor quality, or coatings with UV filters in glass shield protection of the museum artefacts. The use of monitoring and predictions of both indoor conditions and coating performance by means of low-cost tools will impact positively small and medium sized museum for accessing to new technologies and fulfil international recommendations.

Expertise provided:

Lurederra Foundation for Technical and Social Development is a non-profit, private Technological Centre. Lurederra has a large trajectory in international cooperation. The Centre has coordinated 19 of the total 35 participated European projects from FP6 to Horizon 2020 including LIFE and ECO-Innovation programs. The main R&TD fields where Lurederra develops its activities are nanotechnology, new materials and advanced-environment technologies.

In this way, Lurederra could provide the following expertise to the project:

Advance nanoparticle production: Synthesis of simple and complex (mixed, doped, core-shell) nano-oxides, phosphates and carbonates for multi-sectorial applications such as catalysts, energy catalysts, sensors for gas detection, pigments/paints, photo-catalysis or lighting among others. 
The centre counts with full expertise and capabilities in Flame Spray Pyrolysis technology with capacities for production from 10 gr/hour up to kilograms/hour of a high versatility of nanoparticles. Furthermore, the centre has expertise in nanoparticles wet production like sol-gel and production methods by milling or top-down processing. 
Ready to use nanoproducts: One of the areas of development is the functionalization of nanoparticles for specific applications and materials according to the requirements of the market. This includes specific substrates such as glass, concrete, stone, wood, metal, etc. Among the functionalities that could be applied in the project are humidity protection, self-cleaning, anti-scratch and UV filter.
