2017-07-20: Georgia: Obtaining of New Composites on the Basis of Renewable Plant Raw Materials and Ecologically Friendly Binders

Obtaining of New Composites on the Basis of Renewable Plant Raw Materials and Ecologically Friendly Binders

Description of the project offered:
The proposed project proposal concerning to obtaining of new composite materials on basis of renewable plant raw materials (sawdust, straw, leaves and powder bamboo) where as a binder and reinforcement agent for the first time will be used monomeric trialkoxysilylated styrene (for in situ copolymerization with styrene in composite mixture) as well as trialkoxysilylated polystyrene (with various degrees of silylation, and organic/inorganic additives.
Project proposer:   Omari Mukbaniani (Georgia)
Partner role:  Project participant
Partner organisation:  Education
Call for proposal title:  HORIZON PRIZE – MATERIALS FOR CLEAN AIR
Call for proposal identifier:  H2020-CleanAir-2015

Description of the collaboration sought:
The project will be realized on the following scientific directions: basic research, applied research, technology development, technology demonstration and application of these results in industry. The obtained results allow us to produced wood particle as a building materials for inside application, for ceiling, walls and floor production. Furthermore, formwork made from such materials should increase the use cycle, since it is known that composites which are obtained on the organosilicon matrix are characterized with high hydrophobic properties
