Resilience to Extreme (natural and man-made) Events

Description of the project offered: 
We try to analyze resilience in transport networks, wide as far as possible within the time limits, starting from the analysis of relations between non-functional attributes of the system (risk, hazard, dependability, resilience, security, redundancy, etc.), because they considered in different ways by different authors. Resiliency is characterized as a combination of two attributes - dependability and robustness. Conception of dependability was developed mainly in telecommunication networks: the basic end-to-end three dependability and fault - error - failure chain, characterized by the transition from the normal state of the system to the critical state. With this taken into consideration, the role of human, which affects the state of the system in a specific manner. It will be also examined the challenge of resilience in transportation net by global climate change, at which the general resilience of the system must deteriorate. We intend to also examine the influence of telecommunication networks, particulary wireless, on the transport networks, which allows you to improve the transport network resilience in unconvenient environment.

We have to collaborate with researches of resilience in transport networks, in next directions:
- non-functional attributes of the system (risk, hazard, dependability, resilience, security, redundancy, etc.), 
- dependability and robustness to analyse conditions by the transition from the normal state of the system to the critical state. 
- resilience in transportation net by global climate change;
- influence of telecommunication networks, particulary wireless, on the transport networks.
