2016-10-14 Denmark: Nano-engineered Multi-functional Composite Materials for Improved Durability and Extended Lifespan of Structural Components

Nano-engineered Multi-functional Composite Materials for Improved Durability and Extended Lifespan of Structural Components

The primary aim of this proposal is research and innovative development, and processing and manufacturing of novel thermoset based recyclable composites and nanocomposites for products using nanotechnology to achieve added-value functionalities such as: high wear and impact fatigue resistance, anti-ageing, self-healing and self-sensing in order to obtain improved properties and reliability, better durability, and extended life-time of materials and products subjected to extreme environmental and operating conditions. The intended applications of such composite materials/ components/products are targeted at mainly the sustainable energy, transport and off-shore sectors.
