2016-09-15 Ukraine: Earthquake-Resistant Construction Technology of Precast Concrete (patent UA110298C2)

Earthquake-Resistant Construction Technology of Precast Concrete (patent UA110298C2)

Description of the project offered:
The innovative technology of industrial construction will allow to implement projects of mass construction of affordable housing and buildings in all regions of the planet by reducing the time and cost of construction up to 20-30% compared with the standard system of panel construction. The application of the technology will activate construction processes at all stages - from the export of intellectual property, project solutions, a more efficient use of raw materials base to the reduction of energy consumption and the production of equipment / structures, and will make the construction process more environmentally friendly and efficient.
The preliminary estimation of economic indicators of the implementation of this technology has been made, in particular cutting the construction costs to 30%, reducing the market value of 1 m2 of the building up to 15% , reducing construction time of the building up to 30%.
Costs for the construction of the building frame make up 0.3 m3 of concrete and 20 kg of metal per m2 of the floor area. The total reduction of the building mass will decrease the impact on the foundation and the ground. The use of energy efficient materials as external barriers will reduce the loss of the building. The absence of on-site welding and wet process technology will ensure fast installation regardless of the climatic conditions up to 10 m2 per person / hour. A high level of industrialisation will improve the quality, flexibility and possible modularity of application.
One can select the following key trends in the global real estate market:
1) the global housing market is becoming global;
2) European markets and the United States markets are in transition, slipping into recession, after nearly a decade of rising prices;
3) construction activity centres are transferred to Asia and the Persian Gulf;
4) housing in the US and Europe in recent years has become unaffordable for the majority of citizens;
5) most countries are running large-scale programs for building social housing.

The technology will allow:
to reduce the consumption of the resource base, increase sustainability of the construction process
rational planning, flexibility, increased speed of construction, independence from weather conditions, increased quality of factory manufactured products
to provide high-quality, safe and affordable prefabricated housing
to use more energy-efficient modern materials, to ensure fire resistance
to develop the industrial sector of economy, modularity, flexibility, to create new jobs
to export technology, to increase competition in global markets, and to raise the level of technical solutions
The expected growth of the company, as well as the impact of the implementation of the technology and methodology will primarily be implemented at the expense of reinforcing the intellectual property rights, technology transfer, providing services for scientific and technical support of projects, developing software products in construction and related fields.

Partner role:  Project coordinator
Partner organisation:  Small or medium-sized enterprise (SME)
Call for proposal title:  CALL: FET-Open – Novel ideas for radically new technologies
Call for proposal identifier:  H2020-FETOPEN-2016-2017

Description of the collaboration sought:
The project aims to bring innovative technologies into industrial use, develop necessary software, carry out necessary tests and research, develop and adopt calculation methods, localise in each region with regard to local rules and regulations, receive certificates of conformity, develop instructions for the manufacture and installation of construction structures. After the project is completed, the information package for simple methods of design and construction of safe precast concrete buildings, adapted to each application region, will be prepared.
Unification of elements and industrialisation of the process will reduce the use of materials, energy and construction time. This solution increases competitiveness of both investors / developers and project and construction organisations that have access to technology.
The implementation of the technology in each region needs cooperation with local partners in order to design, manufacture and construct structures.
Unique sales points are planned to include design organisations, developers, investors and venture capital funds, state corporations, contractors, sponsors, suppliers, as well as the regions with unique climatic conditions and location, providing the effectiveness of local capacity.
