SaxMF - Sax Music Festival

Description of the project offered:
Creative and Cultural Industries show important potential for the growth and EU employment. Creativity is in fact universally seen as an engine of sustainable growth, smart and inclusive, as well as culture plays a fundamental role in developing an information and knowledge society at the same time helping to combat exclusion and discrimination. The creative industry contributes to the Union's GDP by 5%, and employs 3.8% of the European citizens. Promoting the mobility of artists and cultural players contributes significantly to improving the living conditions of further territories, "the circulation of works is beneficial to the European public, because it opens up new perspectives, stimulates individuals and communities to understand and live in complexity and provides access to a more diverse cultural landscape "(Green Paper on Creative and Cultural Industries, 2011).

The European Agenda for Culture is based on three related goals:
• The promotion of cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue. • The promotion of culture as a catalyst for creativity in the framework of the Lisbon Strategy for growth and jobs. • The promotion of culture as a vital element in the Union's international relations. (Formez, 2013)
The CULTURE sub-programme in detail support:
 Activities that help artists/cultural professionals with their careers, help artists and works reach more audiences across Europe;
 Transnational exchanges of artefacts with a particular European dimension: these do not necessarily create new works, but may enable new and existing works to circulate, for example, through exhibitions that tour between the different partners;
 Exchanges of cultural players with a view to capacity building enabling cultural players to acquire the skills and know-how needed to adapt to their changing environment. This can include training sessions, workshops, the preparation of materials, websites for this purpose, etc.
 Cultural organisations (e.g. concert halls, opera houses, theatres, festivals, orchestras, music groups, theatre groups, etc.) from different countries coming together to co-produce and/or perform and tour in different venues/events in different countries, or at a single event.

The "SAX -MusicFestival" project is an artistic musical mobility project that brings together artists and students of conservatories in four European countries - Italy, Belgium, France and Spain. It has the 'aim of promoting local territories, making them more attractive and have a relapse on other sectors such as tourism, cultural and environmental heritage. A number of artists and activities will be proposed during the two-year project with the aim of creating strong cultural ties between communities, from music conservatories to cultural associations. The instrument of the saxophone will be in particular the element that will link all the project, during which there will be a period of internship for young students in Dinant, the hometown of Adolph Sax inventor of saxophone, where they will discover the origins of the instrument and for the practitioners will be a moment a professional development through the exchange of experiences and expertise. Participants will learn, search, exchange, create and perform interacting with new cultural contexts.
