Partnership Against RadIcalization Online Youth Subjects

Description of the project offered:
The question of the radicalization of youth in sectarian or political groups is an issue that the human and social science research has dealt with for over 10 years. The growing role of digital social networks and wider digital universe (games, media, video, blog, forum) in the endangerment of young people for recruitment and indoctrination of wills is discussed by several researchers from the fields of information sciences, education, sociology. Recent events and citizen mobilization wonder she wears several researchers in their efforts to promote research as a tool for understanding the world, group and social engineering intelligence enabling knowledge sharing and interaction between basic research and research applied. Recent events in Europe and worldwide (33 attacks) we wonder about our collective ability to understand these terrorist acts and especially collectively generate scientific knowledge that allow us to understand and prevent these acts.
At the heart of many acts of terrorist violence there are young Europeans who have gradually chosen a violent engagement. Increasingly, young European people, mainly from Belgium, France and Britain are engaged in Jihad in Syria and Iraq. Young girls are increasingly likely to choose the jihadist commitment. These elements must question the scientists European Youth (psychology, educational sciences, child psychiatry, sociology, anthropology) to better understand how the radical discourse complotiste anti-system and is now a radicalization vector.
Of all the places of radicalization and indoctrination, cyberspace has become, year after year, a space among the most cited by analysts and security forces. The Internet is now heavily invested by terrorist groups. This free approach space fulfills several functions:
- Make propaganda in the strict sense and disseminate media propaganda
- To allow the exchange of information between those involved in the action, to circulate instructions
- Attach the young recruits, using social networks and by building trade communities and enslavement.
- Addressing messages to the enemy and claim acts
- Address information and against Information sympathizers.
All research conducted in the prevention of violence, acts of terrorism, acts of cyberviolents highlight the internet without that we can have the detection tools, site characterization and prohibit such practices. In addition, research conducted in the fields of humanities in digital sociability, cyberbullying, cyber crime, addiction or mental manipulation are very effective.
PARIYS The project aims to put around the same table researchers from different worlds, the land involved in the areas of national security, culture, social affairs and education in order to:
o Cross search results and theoretical fields to highlight the scientific consensus and theoretical differences, methodological and / or ethical from the establishment of an interdisciplinary consortium.
o Undertake related stakeholders research actions to collectively build characterization tools and evaluation of existing procedures in the fight against radicalization and de-radicalization.
o Establish cooperation between companies, governments, ministries to implement process and build tools to prevent the radicalization of young people.
