Topicality of DNA Analysis

Description of the project offered: 
Role of DNA trace is crucial in cases of increasing the objectivity of evidences during forensic examinations conduction in cases of crimes against life and health of the individuals. During identifying, removing and investigation of evidences of biological origin role of mobile DNA laboratories is increasing. Implementation of DNA trace qualification will improve the quality of forensic expertises as well as contribute to the better integration of the European community of Bukovina. Additional challenge of the trace evidence is creation of the database of DNA profiles of individuals who committed serious crimes (according to the law base of Ukraine) for the further cooperation between forensic experts and investigative authorities.
Implementation of the following program should result in: integration of DNA techniques in the investigation of the crime site; Data analysis for the investigation of the crime-related evidences; Provision of more rapid analysis and interpretation of data collected on the crime site with avoidance of further additional costs for their transport and preservation; Possibility of the determination of the cause of death in cases when it cannot be determined by means of ordinary ways of investigation; Development of guidelines for usage of DNA expertise in the practice of judicial investigations and in court proceedings; Improving of forensic capabilities to evaluate different hypotheses used in criminal investigation and prosecution.
