2016-04-22 Austria: RDI and Prototyping of Advanced Integrated Smart Future City Platform Enabling Digital Transformation, Digital Economy and Sustainability

RDI and Prototyping of Advanced Integrated Smart Future City Platform Enabling Digital Transformation, Digital Economy and Sustainability

Description of the project offered:
The project is aimed at creating new-generation approach to holistic vision of the Smart /Future Cities, Regions or Islands and provides prototype TRL7 ready solutions. It achieves innovative objectives by incorporating new model building instruments, digital services and transfer to digital economy enabling citizen engagement. The project participants will be able to use the basic prototype platform Smart CIty Monitor with its follwiing functionalities:
1. Making open customized models of urban areas with interactive model builder instrumentation without programming. The cities, regions and islands are modeled as smart complex cyber-physical systems consisting of multiple smart everything, or intellectual objects including people.
2. Connecting the model to large number of optional data sources including sensors, Internet of Things, Smart Everything, databases, SCADA, automated systems, social networks, webs and actuators and gateways and user mobile devices.
3. Running the models in cloud (or on-premises) on scalable Linux OS (optionally high performance computing) for calculating ongoing real life processes, objects, its states, trends, realizing control actions and necessary information actions.
4. Presenting comprehensive holistic vision of the urban areas, its processes and the ongoing performance results to all stakeholders on mobile devices (COTS) in real time over networks for monitoring, benchmarking, analysis and simulation of responses to potential planning of change options.

In this sense, the model and structure can be related to any sector (or theme, area) such as energy, environment, water, waste, transportation, logistics, retail, manufacturers, tourism, public administrations, and include research components related to Big Data, Cloud Computing, IoT, Smart Factories, Smart Hospitals, etc.
