2016-02-24 Italy: Smart Physical Security Infrastructure as-a-Service

Smart Physical Security Infrastructure as-a-Service

Description of the project offered:
Security issue has become one of the major concerns in recent years for European society. We observe the need of smarter, non invasive systems and instruments that would provide higher level of security in order to avoid disruptive effects from both physical and cyber hazards. Such a system should be comprehensive but yet installation-specific, easily integrated into public and private environments, whether it is a bank venue or a retail store. Innovative technologies in the field of IoT, sensors, actuators and video processing can contribute significantly to innovating security in Europe.

Our Vision
Our company is researching and developing a system and as-a-service business model addressing comprehensively cyber physical security in heterogeneous environments in order to achieve better security level of various infrastructures in Europe.

Project overview
The system envisions a number of peripheral devices (each device corresponds to a location to protect) and a processing center that allows smart remote configuration and management. The peripheral devices are of plug&play type, so to be seamlessly integrated into various environments and their retrofit park of sensors and actuators. The peripheral devices are smart but by definition not location-specific, only the software that is configured over the device defines its purpose capabilities and intelligence. The processing center should be a system that is powerful enough to control significant quantity of devices, that have various profile configured, but at the same time cautions enough to keep distinct and protected sensitive data of the environment where the device is installed.

Our expertise
We are European leader in designing, creating and managing competitive, secure and reliable transactional services in the areas of payments, e-money, networking, trading and post-trading on behalf of Financial and Central Institutions, Corporates and Public Administration Bodies.
Our expertise includes development and execution of mission critical projects, that involve datacenter infrastructures and peripheral devices with boosted performance enabled by remote configuration and pro-active monitoring.

Partnership opportunities
Our infrastructure dedicated to physical security projects addresses a range of business segments that consists of banking and retail. The range could and should be expanded. There are still many challenges to face: first of all identify the list features that provide a needed level of security in Europe, development of a peripheral platform that will be environment-agnostic, studying some crucial impacts of video processing applications in surveillance on human behavior, whether it alters and constraints it.
