Technology and Equipment for Synthesis of Supersorbent (based on thermally expanded graphite) of Oil and Oil Products on Environmental Purposes


Description of the project offered: 
Thermally expanded graphite is currently one of the most popular of nonmaterials thanks to its applications in various fields of human activity. One of it promising applications in environmental field the absorber of oil and oil products.
The sorbent on the basis of thermally expanded graphite can effectively eliminate accidental spills of oil, petroleum products and other chemicals. It can also be used to clean the fur and animals feathers and birds caught in the kill zone.
We have developed the technology and equipment that allow you to get supersorbent on the basis of TEG, 1 g of which can absorb up to 80 g of oil. Developed technologies allow obtaining supersorbent directly at the site of the accident.
Technology and manufacturing equipment for regeneration of the spent sorbent will allow using the sorbent for several times without decreasing of its absorption capacity and will ensure strong economic performance of this technology in general.
The results were published in to 8 scientific articles, and appropriate technical solutions are protected by 16 patents of Ukraine.
Designed and tested (in semi industrial scale and different degrees of mobility and autonomy) of technology and equipment for pre-treatment, application and regeneration of supersorbent on the basis of thermally expanded graphite.
Expected results:
Refining the scientific and technical basis (and creation appropriate technological equipment for various degrees of mobility and autonomy) processes for synthesizing pre-processing, application and regeneration of oil supersorbent, petroleum products and other chemicals (including acetone), on the basis of expanded graphite.
Attracting of an European investments and partners will improve our existing designs and the implementing new technologies at industrial level.
