2016-01-09 Polland: Right to Privacy in the EU Energy Union

Right to Privacy in the EU Energy Union

Description of the project offered:
The aim of the Project is to provide new knowledge of socio-cultural factors driving the attitudes towards the value of privacy, as well as towards approval for collectivism, of main social influencers among the consumers of energy, and the relation between those attitudes and the assumptions, as well as the ends that underlie the Energy Union. In addition, there are important technological issues, which are also to be dealt with. The aim is to develop socially determined technological assumptions for smart-metering instruments and to develop a special electronic map of societal acceptance for the Energy Union. The complementary aim is dissemination and exploitation, which is to be achieved in particular within the set of social campaigns aiming at promoting the results of the research in the public, among authorities and business, and at realizing people that the European Commission value the citizens’ right to privacy and has been searching for improved solutions that would meet the people’s needs as individuals, citizens and consumers.
