Expanding Forecasting Opportunities of the GEOSS by Creation of Digital Materials of Geomorphological and Neotectonic Contents

Description of the project offered: 
With the aim of sustainable subsoil use and risk assessment of activation of dangerous geological processes for both exogenous and endogenous origin, it is essential a creation of informative derived data of Remote Sensing Data (RSD) and their integration to elements of European and global observation systems and spatial databases. 
The project provides for creation the set of digital spatial information of geomorphological and neotectonic contents. It will allow assessing risks of activation of dangerous geological processes, as well as expanding the information base of criteria for mineral exploration. 
First of all the foundation for such research is Remote Sensing Data (RSD) which presented in both multispectral images and digital elevation models (DEM) of different spatial resolution ability.
For realization of the project is planned the implementation of topographic maps required scale. It will allow increasing the accuracy of Remote Sensing Data (RSD), identifying and eliminating current artifacts and mistakes which related to both natural objects and technogenic impact on the Earth’s surface.
Within the framework of the project will be received the new information, integration of which will allow expanding the database of spatial information, which are accumulated in European and worldwide countries within programs of the GEOSS and the Copernicus etc. Database publishing on WEB-servers will be available for all interested final users.
For realization of the project is also planned the implementation of results of geological exploration of materials with geological, tectonical, geophysical contents etc. Involvement of such materials will significantly allow increasing the accuracy and the information value of received derivatives of geomorphological and neotectonical origin, which will make them essential for assessing of risks of activation of dangerous geological processes. 
For realization of the project in the course of the works under current methods will be solved next targets: 
creation of the primary digital elevation model (DEM) according to the data from Remote Sensing Data (RSD);
agreement of the primary DEM with topographic maps and its updating;
transformation of the primary DEM to the hydrologic adequate model regarding to the veracity of modern hydrologic net;
identification and elimination of artifacts from DEM
data decoding of Remote Sensing Data (RSD) with underlining of lineation which more than likely meet to criteria of modern Earth crust faults
analysis of morphometry of fluvial network with underlining of elementary basins and regional watersheds;
analysis of extreme value of fluvial network and identifying of zones of modern neotectonical activation which control them 
analysis of main morphometric parameters of elementary basins;
analysis of amplitude of vertical movements for every elementary catchment area and element of fluvial network
determination of spatial patterns of localization of modern negative exogenous land forming processes 
drawing maps of main surfaces which control the development of modern landforms which were designed by morphometric parameters 
determination of stable areas in the context of absence of development of negative land forming processes of different genesis and dangerous areas
The project has the long-term prospect in view of large quantity accumulated spatial information. It is reasonable to provide integration with continuity of scales from small to large-scale components. First of all it is planned execution of specific regional works which are important for society 
Expected results 
creation of the set of spatial data of geomorphologic and neotectonic conditions which are derived Remote Sensing Data (RSD), topographical maps, information of geological and related contents 
integration of created and current spatial data of geomorphologic and neotectonic contents to European and global systems of observations and data storage.
enhancement of comfortable opening, access and using of data of observations of Earth and information in Europe 
enhancement of the GEOSS transparency in the regional context
expanding data of the GEOSS and the Copernicus, information and services 
innovative design possibilities for business of SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) and companies 
enhancement of European potential capacity for solving of prime importance social problems for achievement of sustainable development or realization of response strategy and reducing the effects of change climate.
Realization of project idea plays important role in view of increasing impact of globalization on society and rapid decision-making process of geological risks. Such risks must be factored into promotion of investment projects, the aim of which are creation of aboveground and near-surface infrastructures. Availability of information about potential negative geological processes of endogenous and exogenous origin will allow avoiding catastrophic phenomena during exploitation of surface areas for different public need in future.
