Engaging Consumers Towards Sustainable Energy

Description of the project offered: 
Poltava National Technical Yuri Kondratyuk University has developed and implemented of energy-saving behavior models of effective owner. In particular, with reference to the Draft Work Programme 2016 2017, we are interested in the calls EE 06, EE-07, EE-08, EE-09 And also EE 22, EE-23, EE-24, EE-25. 
Our main goal: promotion and motivation energy saving behavior among the consumers in order to reduce energy consumption and to protect the environment for the future generations; formation of energy-efficient vision of end consumers of energy resources that include household management companies, utility companies, local authorities and public local authorities, energy service companies and small private businesses.
The project focuses on the formation of energy-efficient vision of end consumers, household management companies, utility companies, local authorities and public local authorities, PR-companies, energy service companies and SME’s about energy resources (focusing on different age groups of consumers). 
The sphere of scientific research:
1. Ensure the conditions of economic motivation to use energy-saving technologies and methods of forming energy saving behaviour of consumers of energy resources;
2. Coordination of organizational and economic resource flow energy stakeholders, including representative communities, utilities and the public authorities.
3. Development of public-private partnership in terms of ensuring the formation of sustainable energy, renewable and alternative energy sector consumption.
4. Formation of energy saving behaviour of children in kindergartens and primary schools.
In order to achieve the main goal we planned to do such activities: 
1. Undertake a comprehensive evaluation of energy-saving behavior of effective owner; 
2. Analyze the results of residential buildings energy audit (will be determined the specific energy consumption, compared and ranked objects in terms of energy consumption; also will be determined the energy saving potential); 
3. Development of energy-saving behavior models of effective owner, based on cooperation with State participation for support of energy efficiency measures in the housing market;
4. Formation and implementation of energy-saving behavior models of effective owner;
5. Development of proposals for improving the mechanism of funding the energy efficiency measures under the conditions of public-private partnerships;
6. Organization and conduct communicative cooperation in the field of energy efficiency for the purpose to enhance energy security of Poltava region (seminars, conferences, round tables);
7. Conduct PR campaign «Energy efficiency in the residential sector» among the population of the Poltava region.
Expected Impact: Formation of energy-saving behavior among homeowners in Poltava region; implementation of energy efficiency through minimizing unproductive costs and reduction of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere; create a regional center for homeowner associations which will help them to make energy audits and count material and technical costs of implementing energy efficient technologies; publication of scientific and methodological works concerning implementation of energy efficiency technologies in the residential sector.

Description of the collaboration sought:

1. Conduct advisory activities to promote energy-efficient vision;
2. Development roadmap fulfilments of energy saving technology with determination of possible sources of resource support;

Determination and implementation of optimal forms of cooperation between private consumers of energy resources with potential participants of a process of formation of energy-efficient type of economy (energy service companies, municipalities, utilities, regulatory authorities, investment and financial companies). 
4. Facilitating consumer understanding of energy bills (on and off line), leading to actions allowing for a reduction in energy consumption.
5. Development of systems, tools, measures and recommendations for energy-saving consumer behaviour.
