Establishing Impact of RSV Infection, Resultant Disease and Public Health Approach to Reducing the Consequences

Description of the project offered: 
The main idea of this project is to create educational and informational means (both electronic and paper) for pregnant women and parents of young children to spread knowledge about RSV infection and possibility of RSV infection prevention in infants, to provide its specific diagnosing by rapid test and/or polymerase chain reaction, to develop and implement severity criteria for improving treatment methods and therefore reduce the period of in-patient treatment, to prevent long-term consequences of RSV infection in premature infants, to create possibilities for RSV infection prophylaxis. All these taken together will contribute to the early disease detection, reduction of hospital stay duration and prevention of the long-term consequences of RSV infection, reduction of costs for public health system, and therefore will take the burden off the society’s back.
