Medication Management Robot for Chronic Polypharmacy

Description of the project offered: 
The healthcare ecosystem needs a new conceptual device that will increase dramatically the ease and accuracy of medication adherence for Chronic & Poly-pharmacy patients. The device should minimize manual intervention, allowing for an independent, fully automatic, reliable medication management. (as opposed to all compartmental devices available today)
Using patented Computer-Vision and Electro-Mechanical breakthrough, the Personal-Health-Robot, developed by RMD-Health eliminates the (unnecessary) process of manually redistributing pills to organizer compartments or multi-dose pre-package. 
This unnecessary process is: 
• Error prone
• Difficult for some (Physically or Cognitively)
• Time-consuming
• Costly as a service

The device identifies and extracts pills from the original, standard, pharmacy issued package (Blister-packs or bottles). The extracted pills are automatically allocated (in real time) to the patient according to their prescribed medication regimen. The device also eliminates the damage of premature exposure of the hermetically sealed pills to Air, Moisture and Light.

Leveraging the device’s connectivity, it can 
• IoT device connected to Home Healthcare network
o Aggregates Bio-metric data from health & wellness devices
• Report & support the correlation of Bio-metric data with adherence
• Such Data, will be integrated in the cloud with the Patient’s EHR (Elect. Health record)

Description of the collaboration sought:

1) Device to Medical environment interaction

1.1) Digital interface between the pharmacy and the prescribing medical institution. (receive the patient's medication regiment)

1.2) Digital interface between the pharmacy and the Robotic device. (programming the device with medication regiment)

1.3) Pharmaceutical procedure for loading the device with the medications.

1.4) Digital Interface between robotic device and patient's care-taker cloud environment


2) Robotic-Human interaction

2.1) Social & behavioral interaction between the robotic device and the patient.

2.2) Social & behavioral interaction between the robotic device - smart phone application & and the patient. 

2.3) Social & behavioral interaction between the robotic device and the patient's supporting environment. (family, care-taker, social friends)


3) Robotic device digital interfaces

3.1) Digital interface between the robotic device and the Home e-health network

3.2) Digital Interface between robotic device and care-taker cloud environment

3.3) Digital interface between the pharmacy and the Robotic device. (programming the device with medication regiment)
