Development of Innovative Technologies and Equipment of Plasma Water Steam Gasification

Description of the project offered: 
The existing problem: The use of plasma technologies for energy utilization of solid carbonaceous industrial and domestic, including hazardous and harmful wastes is a proven in commercial operation process. Along with many advantages compared to other methods, has a significant limitation. It is due to increased productivity and, accordingly, the capacity of plasma systems their complexity, high cost, and maintenance cost. 
The proposed project: These problems can be overcome by the implementation developed in this project the concept of reducing the load on the plasma reactor due to the use of non-equilibrium water-steam plasma. The work aims to develop new, environmentally safe processing of waste into a liquid product - high-quality syngas with the subsequent conversion into synthetic liquid hydrocarbons. In the proposed technology vapor / oxygen plasma conversion eliminates the shortcomings of conventional gasification processes, which are characterized by 1) the high capital cost of large reactors, equipped with expensive heat-resistant materials; 
2) high operational costs associated with maintenance, generation of oxygen, high temperatures (heat loss/heat exchangers are expensive).
And the proposed method is characterized by: 
1) the ability to obtain the theoretical maximum efficiency of gasification with a minimum coefficient of excess oxidant; a lower oxygen consumption compared with conventional processes; accordingly, smaller and cheaper oxygen stations; temperature and therefore cheaper heat-resistant materials. 
2) non thermic (cold) plasma discharge, which generates large amounts of steam for long-lived non-equilibrium plasma with various radicals, ions and excited particles. The so-called catalytic effect lowers the temperature in the reactor and the energy consumption. 
Readiness: Calculations and design works, pilot made the complex plasma-steam gasification of waste for electric power up to 150 kW, executed test equipment.
This project proposal plans:
To upgrade of pilot equipment test results, to carry out technological optimization, to develop design documentation for a number of small-scale gasification system (1 – 10 - 100 tons per day) for mass production.
Expected result: the Analysis shows the possibility of increasing 10 – 15% gasification efficiency, reduce capital costs by 25 – 50 %. Various kinds of carbonaceous wastes can be transformed by changes of plasma parameters for good quality synthesis gas. Clean of dirt and compressed it can be integrated in one line with plasma gasifier in the synthesis process of Fisher-Tropsch process of obtaining waxy, liquid, and volatile hydrocarbons.
The installation will also be used to obtain heat and electricity from the waste of large industrial plants, residues of agricultural production, municipal solid waste. Light-duty mobile plasma/Fisher-Tropsh system (1 – 100 tonnes per day) is potentially in demand in large numbers in small settlements, agricultural production, hospitals, etc.
