Technologies in Animal Breeding, Estimation and Prediction of Traits

Description of the project offered: 
Technologies in cattle breeding:
Estimation of livestock efficiency;
Methods for ergonomic evaluation of working and manufacturing process;
Ethological assessment of cattle behavior;
Estimation of environment and comfort in animal buildings;
Technological approaches to feed preparation and distribution;
Using feed mixture;
Estimation of milking, adding litter, cleaning the manure and herd management on farms.

Prediction and estimation of traits:
Estimation of breeding values of cattle;
Estimation of effects of genetic and non-genetic factors on economically important traits;
Estimation of relationships between growth rate of heifers and their future traits.

Breeding and selection:
Genetic evaluation of dairy cattle;
Exterior assess of the type of cattle.

Statistical analysis:
Planning experiments on biological objects and statistical analysis of their results;
Estimation of genetic parameters (heritability, repeatability, etc.)

Organic and low-input production:
Estimation of technologies and breeding in organic and low-input production;
Development of grazing technologies with rational using of pastures;

Evaluation of biodiversity:
Utilization of local breeds for improving of biodiversity;
Genetic analysis of populations (relationships, inbreeding, crossbreeding efficiency etc.);
Methods to improve and preserve the gene pool of small and endangered breeds.
