2015-09-16 Netherlands: Appy2work

Appy2work

Description of the project offered:
This proposal aims at designing, developing and piloting Appy2work, a programme specifically made to encourage unemployed people to become active in their community and support their integration in the labour market. Appy2work will introduce a motivational tool that will be able to connect and align efforts of municipalities, civil-society organisations (housing, care and welfare) and local entrepreneurs to promote work, participation, social inclusion, safety and informal help in neighbourhoods. At the same time it will promote local economy and the development of local services, both commercial and informal.

The heart of the project is a fully electronic, NFC-enabled credit system that incentivises unemployed people with credits as means to promote socially relevant work beneficial to both other individuals and to the community as a whole. Credits hold a real economic value and can be spent as a currency at partner organisations.
