 Creation of New Tools for School Education

Description of the project offered: 
To solve the problems of school education we offer 2 tools: real school labs with remote access and specialized computer quest-games.

1. Remote access laboratory.
Interest in physics among students of secondary schools is reduced. Possibly due to the lack of necessary equipment for field experiments. In particular field experiments associate mathematical models to the real world and are the most interesting part of the physics lesson. Equipment for field experiments must comply with the current level of technology. It is difficult to equip all schools with it. Way to solve this problem is to create a stand with remote access for laboratory work. Real (not virtual) training labs are being actively implemented in universities. The university labs are based on existing laboratory stands. Thus such stands for school labs don’t exist and need to be developed.
At the moment, there is no common standard or technology of remote laboratories. Attempt to implement a common system for remote access to laboratory facilities was the project SAHARA Labs. But at the moment it is not active and, apparently, is not finished. Therefore, the entire control system was developed and implemented by our company in a remote lab "Ballistics". Laboratory "Ballistics" allows carrying out up to different kind of 6 school research works.
Access to the laboratory is provided with the “Its Physics” portal. The developed technology can be applied to almost any physics stands. 

2. Quest-games.
Computer games became a part of our life. Teaching children through games well-known method. The difference of our developments is that games are designed specifically for school course.

The company developed a quest practicum which consists of 40 scenarios of quest-games to standard school physics course. Each scenario has 3 levels of complexity. Several of it are programmed and available on the portal. In case of difficulties a user can to go through the related lesson directly in the game window. 
The project conceived motivational component: bonus points are granted upon success in the game, which could be disposed to get real prizes or to use them as a voucher in a school. 
Similar games should be developed for other disciplines and/or interdisciplinary.

3. Project activities.
A number of the goals settled by call (raise awareness encompassing science and technology and STEM career, orientation towards multidisciplinary research) can be already provided (to some extent) during the school education through the qualitative organization of the project activities. 

Project activities are important condition for the involvement of young people in STEM area. Building projects enough technological and at the same time easily understood by school age students is not an easy task. School-university-enterprise cooperation is really needed there. The building projects activities will contribute to establishing real connections in the chain school-university-enterprise. As a result, in the framework of the project will be accumulated base with respect to high-school projects, which will be distributed and updated with the completion of the project. As a result of the project the base of technological school projects will be created. It will be distributed and updated after the project will be finished.
Change in education is associated with the appropriate training of teachers. Institutes of higher education are already doing it. Institutes need well-trained applicants. This is another connection in the school-university-enterprise chain. The interaction between the school-university-enterprise will be created through complementary needs and capabilities of units. 
Described remote access tools can be used in project ISSI-1-2015.
